Kyle stared back, his shock-blue eyes flecked with red wide in surprise. His brown hair shimmered red in a faintly familiar way. His shoulders were broader and his face leaner. Grandiel jolted and set the book aside, he had no planned visitors today, who could it be? As he walks down the stairs to greet the visitor or potential thief, he stares instead of properly addressing the stranger. Grandiel gets absorbed into their little world of problems and their short-lived lives, a wonderful distraction from eternity of time. They tended to ponder more philosophical topics in nature, wondering of the purpose of life while barely being able to live past 200. They were clever while being amazingly stupid at the same time. There was a sense of harmony between them and Grandiel truly did like humans. That he wasn't like the monsters that lived in the nearby forests, attuned with nature and spiteful of human beings. The human villagers had grown less wary and more friendly towards him afterwards. The town needed help rebuilding after the demonic invasion, and he helped. For some reason should it occur, he did not want to die in front of his students. It truly hurt when he couldn't, when his body had become too frail and the use of magic would send him vomiting blood. Grandiel wanted to be next to them, watch over them, watch them grow into fine human adults. Stopping villains all over the world, being the true heroes that the world needed. ![]() They would be independent and strong at this age, helping the Grand Chase. He thought of Kyle and Cindy, now mature human adults. Sighing quietly and fingering the book pages, nostalgia would creep up on him at the most random of times. Grandiel wasn't a believer, but rather prayed for the motions of praying. Perhaps the goddesses would send some recompense and he'd receive a message of their safety and travels.Įveryday he prayed for the safety of the Chase and the two children. Repeating mistakes to ensure the future, losing the future because of the past. Do the same things everyday while pretending it had meaning. Distracting yourself from the endless creature that was time while pretending to remain the same. It was waiting which he was very accustomed to. He knew how things worked and knew that he wouldn’t hear from them in a very long while. He has not seen Kyle or Cindy in decades and the monthly communication with the Dimensional Traders went silent couple years back. It's been fifteen long years since Arme had fallen near his house and they started their adventure. Grandiel had been sitting in the study reading about songbirds. ![]()
